JR Rams Program Information (K - 2nd Grade)

Welcome to the New Canaan FC Junior Rams Program.

The JR Rams Program is available to all players Kindergarten through Second Grade.

The program is our foundation level of programming and is designed for players looking for a structured soccer program led by professional coaching staff. The program outline includes 1 to 2 practices per week and an in-house small sided game each Saturday.

Players are welcome to join at any level and be part of the Fall, Spring or both seasons. The program provides age appropriate programming at each level on an incremental basis to allow players to build upon each skillset as they work through the program. 

All sessions include individual ball mastery followed by technical and decision making activities that challenge players to learn new skills and apply them to real game based scenarios. 

All games will be small sided as directed by US Soccer. Small sided games (3v3, 4v4 and 5v5) allow for more touches and decisions per player which directly correlate to the larger side games at the travel team level.

JR Rams Program Objectives:



• Provide a developmentally appropriate development program for players prior to joining team programs.
• Give players the opportunity to learn through discovery and directed activities.
• Provide a fun and structured soccer experience for all players.
• Provide a positive first interaction with soccer.
• Provide positive participation in organized sport.
• Introduce players to the concept of specific practices.
• Introduce players to the concept of competition through small sided games.
