JR RAMS PROGRAM INFORMATION

The JR Rams Program is designed for Kindergarten through 2nd Grade players and serves as the foundation of the New Canaan FC player pathway.

Led by our professional coaching staff, players train 1–2 times per week and enjoy small-sided in-house games every Saturday, creating the ideal environment to build confidence, develop skills, and have fun.

Players can join in the Fall, Spring, or both seasons, with age-appropriate training that progresses as they grow.

Each session focuses on ball mastery, technical development, and game-based decision-making, while US Soccer small-sided games (3v3, 4v4, and 5v5) maximize touches, involvement, and learning to prepare players for the next level.


  • Junior Rams Program Objectives

    • Provide a developmentally appropriate development program for players prior to joining team programs.
    • Give players the opportunity to learn through discovery and directed activities.
    • Provide a fun and structured soccer experience for all players.
    • Provide a positive first interaction with soccer.
    • Provide positive participation in organized sport.
    • Introduce players to the concept of specific practices.
    • Introduce players to the concept of competition through small sided games.

  • What is the time commitment?

    The Junior Rams Program consists of one (kindergarten) or two (first and second grade) one hour practices per week and a game on Saturday.  It is the expectation that all players attend the Saturday games to ensure teams can be fielded with the appropriate numbers.

  • Is there a uniform?

    We ask that all Junior Rams arrive in the following uniform.  Macron is New Canaan FC's exclusive uniform provider.  All uniform items can be purchased HERE.

  • The registration system is showing the wrong grade for my child. What should I do?

    Email registrar@newcanaanfc.com with your child’s full name and the grade/program they need to register for. The registrar will update the information in the system and let you know when you can return to complete registration.
