There is a unique opportunity for you or your young adult to become an NCSA Travel Soccer referee. We are looking for both Adult and Youth Referees. This is a great way for adults who love soccer to stay involved with the game. For the youth, it’s a flexible, part time job which pays very well, looks great on a resume and teaches leadership skills. Here is a link to the US Soccer website with advice for potential referees: click here.
Here is how it works to become a referee:
All our referees are certified by USSF.
The course is offered online and takes around 5 hours to complete. After completion of the course, there is a one-day field session and final exam.
The cost of the training is $93.95 and you will also need to purchase a referee uniform. Take and pass the USSF Referee Certification course for a “Grade 8” referee. Information and registration for the course can be found online at www.ctreferee.net. If you have any questions about the training, contact the Ct State Referee office
at 860-676-1161 or email
Youth candidates must have played travel soccer and be 13 years old to take the class.
After you pass the course, contact the New Canaan Assignor by email at
. Getting started as a referee is a commitment, but once you get started you have every spring and fall to referee and earn money.
Thank you for your support of soccer and the NCFC.
