Why Register?Research indicates that individuals playing Futsal receive the ball six times more often than they would do when they are playing 11-a-side football, allowing players to perform more individual techniques such as passes, controls, fakes, feints, dribbles, and runs with the ball.
On behalf of the New Canaan FC Board I would like to thank you all for an excellent fall 2019 season! We appreciate all of the support from our volunteer Travel & Academy managers, sidelines assistants, and our Junior Rams volunteer parent coaches. Our programs would not be possible without your support and dedication to our players, organization, and the sport of soccer.
Fall 2019 again saw us boast a program size close to 800 participants plus 100s of volunteers as coaches. Each and every player has a tremendous amount to be proud of after the fall’s performance, and we were thrilled to celebrate this at our 2nd annual end-of-season banquet. Once again, this fall, many of our teams had excellent winning seasons. In addition, we successfully launched three new Rivals United teams and hope to continue building that program throughout 2020.
The link between our program and NCHS Soccer Programs continues to grow, with many of our alumni contributing at the on the Varsity Programs this fall season. We also saw the official launch of the Friends of New Canaan Soccer which no doubt will support the advancement of soccer programming in New Canaan for years to come.
On the field we saw many success stories including:
Regular Season Champions & CT Cup Semi Finalists – 2009 Girls Red
SWD Playoff Champions – Girls 2008 Red
Regular Season Champions – 2005/06 Girls Rivals United, wining their division in an undefeated league season

The New Canaan FC Board would again like to thank all of our members for being part of the program this Fall 2019 season. As we move into the winter season, we are pleased to offer a wide range of practice options for your players this Winter.
The winter months offer additional opportunities to focus on technical development of all players.
Our Technical Director and St Luke’s Varsity Coach Dan Clarke stressed the importance of continuing soccer engagement:
‘We encourage all players to participate in one of our winter programs to continue their ongoing development. We feel it is important to do something during the 'off-season' so are players are ready to go again in the spring. All our programs provide a wonderful opportunity to get touches on the ball and to play soccer in a different environment. The fast-paced nature of Futsal and indoor soccer can really benefit a player's technical skills and speed of play.‘
