Join your New Canaan FC Coaches for an intensive 4 days of technical training to improve your childs soccer game! Finishing practices, small sided games, passing & receiving and much more!
We want to ensure all our members that we, and our coaching base, will be taking all recommended measures outlined for the relative phases by our governing bodies current Return To Play guidelines (CJSA, USSF, NCAF, NCHS & NC REC DEPT).
This may mean that aspects of the programming look different than usual while keeping the quality and experience high for all players.
We are excited to announce that our tryout dates have been confirmed for our travel team program this fall. New Canaan FC will continue to offer a travel team program for boys & girls aged U9 through U15 until High School.
This year’s eligible birth years for travel soccer are as follows:
2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006
2020 Travel Team Tryouts will be held in August on the following dates/times:
August 24, 25, 26
An additional day will be offered on Saturday 22nd of August for some private school students due to the change in school start dates.
Specific age group times, dates and field locations will be confirmed by July once all relative start dates, pre-season activities & school programming’s are understood.

TRYOUT REGISTRATION FOR ALL AGE GROUPS WILL BE COMPLETED ON A NEW SYSTEM
ALL PLAYERS & FAMILIES WILL NEED TO CREATE NEW PROFILES
The state governing body (CJSA) has moved to improve the online experience and registration platform of all clubs. Our NEW registration system starting in Fall 2020 will be utilized for player verification & background checks.
The process on our new platform should streamline your registration experience and take no more than 5 minutes. New profiles will need to be created for you as an adult who will then add child(ren) to your account.
The cost of the travel program is outlined on the registration page; however, no charge is made until roster places are accepted in August. There is no tryout fee.
2020 TRYOUT REGISTRATION - CLOSES FRIDAY, JUNE 19th

FAQs – Why are we changing registration platforms?
The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association has chosen to change web provider and registration system in order to further enhance its user experience. As part of the CJSA we utilize the link between the host site at the state level and our club site to verify players and perform background checks.
FAQs – Will we still use League Athletics or Stack Sports?
League Athletics will remain in effect for Summer 2020 programs and potentially some Fall 2020 programs and scheduling, however, much of that will be dictated by the CJSA’s decisions on league schedules.
FAQs – We are out of town on the tryout dates selected, what should we do?
FAQs – Who will evaluate players?
During tryouts players will be evaluated by our professional coaching base. This will include a mixture of age group coaches and non-age group coaches; it may also include independent evaluators from outside of our current coaching pool due to the August tryout dates.
FAQs – Can I stay and watch the tryout?
Tryouts are CLOSED to everyone not participating or evaluating. Therefore, nobody is permitted to watch their players tryout. You are requested to check your child in on arrival and return to collect at the agreed upon finish time.
FAQs – What do I have to wear for tryouts?
Players are should wear neutral soccer attire including soccer shorts, socks, shin guards, shirt & GK Gloves if appropriate. Players are NOT permitted to wear New Canaan FC clothing/gear/uniforms/pinneys and are requested to NOT wear alternate Premier Uniforms.
FAQs – What is the new registration system called? Can we have more information?
