Coach Comment

After a two week layover the girls were tasked with a difficult home game against 3rd place Trumbull. However from the start there wasn’t any signs of a soccer hangover the girls possessed the ball from the start playing majority of the game in the opponents half which has been a familiar sight over the past weeks. Working the ball out wide creating over laps which has been a prime focus over the week training sessions and defending from the front has been very good to see. Scoring a great free kick and a penalty! The only lapse of concentrating allowed them to score with the final kick of the game.

Coach Focus for the Coming Week

This week we are going to focus on the final 3rd play continuing the overlapping runs and putting the ball in the back of the net!

Player(s) of the week

Charlotte Cooper & Lindsay Hanlon

Player of the week Qualities Exhibited

Lindsay displayed great positional awareness from start to finish making darting runs and also getting back to help defend she capped off a great game by scoring a peach of a free kick! Charlotte whether she plays in goal or left back she’s always composed and brings a calmness to an already great back four another solid performance breaking up play and also starting our attacks down the left hand side!

Captains coming week

To be determined on practice performance
